WebSite's Secret
Yesterday, October 1, 2007, was the Grand Opening of
WebSite's Secret.
In the WebSite's Secret members area, as I write this, are 8
software titles, ready for download. Six are Perl CGI and
two are PHP.
That's just the beginning. More will be added. We are
determined that WebSite's Secret memberships remain a
very good deal.
Here is a synopsis of each of the 8 software titles, in
alphabetical order.

Publish dynamic mailto: links on your web pages. Click
the link to send the page title and URL to a friend. The
visitor's email program opens up with subject and email body
pre-filled.
With your control panel, you determine what the subject and
email body are pre-filled with.
This is an excellent tool for blog templates, CMS templates,
and other situations where web page title and URL are
unknown at the time the link is set up, like with SSI or PHP
inserts. The dynamic nature of the mailto: link makes this
possible.

Handy Spot Editor

When you have a place on your web site that frequently or
intermittently changes, this sure is a handy tool to have on

you're done.

yet keep the location of the original file a secret. If
they don't know where it is, nobody can link directly to
your original file.

Integrated File Upload

Let guests or customers upload files to your server with
this one-purpose form and software.
The form may be in an iframe so the main page does not have
to load a "thank you" page. The form may be in a popup so
it's completely separate from the main page.
Integrated File Upload allows you to choose whether or not
to receive notification email when files are uploaded.

On Time Delivery

Set up content up to a year in advance or display within
your web pages. Ads, poems, specials, sayings,
season-related humor, anything that you can imagine and can
be published on a web page.
Display something all month. Or display it for a certain
number of days. Or change the content every day. Your
choice.
Content is delivered to your web pages with either PHP,
SSI, or JavaScript.

PDQ Mailer

This is excellent software for sending a note to a list of
email addresses.
Configuration is about as easy as it can get (just specify
the location of sendmail).
Mailing setup is all on one page.

Specify your preferred email headers (From, Subject,
and such).

Provide the email addresses (pasted into the form or
contained in a file on your server).

Paste the email into the form.

Click the button.
Destination email addresses appear on the monitor page as
emails are sent out.
PDQ Mailer remembers the details of your previous mailing.
Just change what's different and click the button.

7.
Repeat Visitors See Content Change With PHP Script

Sometimes you want to say one thing when a person first
visits a page on your web site, and a different thing when
they come back or when they visit another page.
If they come back a third or a tenth time, maybe you want
to say something different still.
The PHP code can be placed on a single page or imported to
many pages.

ViralMeter

Sometimes things go viral. You never really know what will
grab people's attention until after the fact.
After the fact, it's easy to wish one knew exactly how it
came about. But the opportunity to monitor is gone.
ViralMeter can monitor and track distribution. Distribution
of ebooks, any file that can be downloaded by clicking a
link, can be tracked — at two levels.
Set up ViralMeter in anticipation. Should the product go
viral, you will have data with which to determine the ad or
publication that was the primary attention infection point.
