No doubt, you've seen headline tickers at news sites such as http://news.bbc.co.uk/

Mari wanted something like it for our web sites. So I made one.

We named it Attention Ticker because it's good for so much more than just headlines. And, we are making it available to you at an appealing price. Click here to read more.

Attention Ticker can deliver any number of short messages. People will notice.

The ticker messages may be linked. Or not. Your choice.

The ticker can be made to stop when a cursor moves over it. Or not.

When the cursor moves off the ticker, the ticking may resume -- your choice.

Installation is a breeze and a snap and smiley all the way through:

1. Upload two PHP pages to the server. One is the control panel and the other delivers the ticker message.

   If Attention Ticker needs to have a subdirectory created or permissioned (it tries to do that automatically so you don't have to), it will let you know with a nice message.

2. Type the URL of the control panel page into your browser's address bar.

After you've logged into the control panel (specify your own password), you'll see the main page. On the main page is a quick start list of 3 steps:

1. Use the preferences section to specify or alter the appearance and rhythm of your ticker messages.

2. Use the ticker content section to load your ticker messages.

3. Copy the HTML and JavaScript and paste them into your web page.

The main page of the control panel also contains more in-depth information, including a way to import an external ticker message file that other software may update. The main page is an integrated users' manual.
