Dropdown Navigation List Generator
Creating clear and effective navigation links for large web
sites can be a real challenge.
BontragerConnection.com and Willmaster.com
have many hundreds of web pages with how-to information and
web site owners' tools, in numerous categories. Navigation
was redesigned, again and again, trying to make things
easier for our site visitors.
Then, Mari was inspired by a friend's suggestion of using
dropdown navigation lists. Each category would have its own
individual dropdown.
It made a tremendous difference. Now, people can find what
they are looking for or, if a bit uncertain, can see what is
available with an intuitive navigation system.
The dropdown navigation lists work so well, I created a
generator to code them. The generator is a complete,
professionally designed, web page with PHP.
Click here to see a "screenshot" of the generator.
Here it the generator code:
Implementing dropdown navigation sitewide can be done with
SSI or PHP. Save the generated dropdown code in a file
uploaded to your server.
With SSI, the dropdown code can be included on any web page
of the domain where the dropdown code file is located.
With PHP, the dropdown code can be included in any web page
of any domain you own, even if the dropdown code is located
at a different domain.
If you have web sites with many pages or which are otherwise
challenging for navigation designers, consider dropdown
navigation lists.
